Industrie-Contact helps leading Chinese automotive metropolis Xiangyang in Germany in the search for German cooperation partners and companies willing to settle in Germany
The Chinese automotive metropolis of Xiangyang, with around six million inhabitants, region of Hubei in Central China, is currently seeking interested companies and institutions for cooperation and settlement in Xiangyang. Industrie-Contact supported the city in this endeavour at the 2018’s IAA Commercial Vehicles trade show in Hanover. The direct client for this project was CMEC International Exhibition Co. Ltd. based in Beijing. CMEC belongs to the Chinese state-owned company Sinomachint.
The task was to identify and invite potential partners. In addition, politicians from Hanover, Lower Saxony and other federal states were invited and a press release was sent out after the trade fair. Xiangyang’s Deputy Mayor Zhang Xiaofan and Hanover’s Mayor Thomas Hermann delivered the speeches. Xiangyang was more than happy to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Deutsch-Chinesischen Wirtschaftsvereinigung e.V. (German-Chinese business association) during the IAA. At the end of the event, intensive match-making took place.
From Germany, Kokinetics, world market leader for moving parts in car seats from the region around Frankfurt, and Koki Technik Transmission Systeme, supplier of transmission systems from the Chemnitz area, have already settled in Xiangyang. The French automotive group PSA, Nissan from Japan and Volvo from Sweden are also based in Xiangyang. 14 Chinese companies from the region already supply car parts to Germany and other countries.
