The 20 biggest fitness trends for 2020
Wearable tech has become ingrained in today’s sports culture
FIBO, the world’s largest trade show for fitness, wellness and health, which was to be held in Cologne in April, was postponed until the second half of 2020 due to the spread of the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. But this does not affect the trend towards fitness. According to the American College of Sports (ACSM), these are the trends for 2020:
- Wearables (fitness trackers, smart watches, HR monitors, GPS tracking devices)
- High intensity interval training (HIIT)
- Group training (from 5 participants)
- Training with free weights
- Personal training
- Training is medicine
- Training with the own body weight
- Fitness programs for the elderly
- Health/wellness coaching
- Employment of certified professionals
- Training for weight reduction
- Functional fitness training
- Outdoor activities
- Yoga
- Licensing for fitness professionals
- Lifestyle medicine
- Circuit training
- Workplace health promotion
- Use of measurement methods
- Children and exercise
Industrie-Contact has implemented press events at FIBO for customers such as Zumba Fitness and Piloxing, thus ensuring that awareness of the brands and bookings in the courses are increased.
